May 9, 2024 ended in Prescott, AZ

I made it!    7.5 hours to get 61 miles.   Yeah that includes a couple rest stops and one flat tire.   Still!   That's an

average speed of 8 mph.   Ouch .    Started down in the desert and ended up in beautiful pine trees in Prescott.    Really pretty once we got up into some elevation .   The way I understand it, we had an 7 mile climb.   Then a break for awhile, then a 5, followed by a 9.   But the last 5 miles into town were at 30 mph.   Almost made the long climbs worth it!   You'll see from pictures that the terrain really changes from flat desert .   I was dieing to eat a baked or mashed potatoes, but was too lazy to find that.   Ended up at a Subway.  This is really pretty countryside.   I had no idea.   I also had no idea there were so many hills/ mountain s, or whatever they are.    I kept thinking how can we keep going up!!!! 🧐.  Mind you, the grades weren't killer steep, but between 5 and6 mph forever.   Now tomorrow I guess the climb up Mingus mountain is quite a bit steeper.....   We'll see.   Fingers crossed.....

By the way, no headwinds today!
Our first climb was yarnell pass
By the way, 2 days ago we were 200 feet below sea ⛵ level, and today we were over 6100 at one point.
