May 31 to Chillicothe, MO

Hills and headwinds.  87 miles, 4400 feet going uphill (what you really pay attention to) and 4600 feet going down, which you don't notice.   Today was like an EKG.    Constant up and down.

Started the day at 7.   Within 2 minutes it started to sprinkle, then rain.  Rained for first 40 minutes, then dry the rest of the day.  At mile 31 we all regrouped for a parade to the historic society.   That group puts on lemonade, PBJ sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls every year for our group.

A pretty the hard day.   Difficult to explain the constant hills.   Rollers, but you could never make it up the next one without a lot of gear shifting.

  1. Beautiful contryside. The hills had to be a challenge. Nce to have those in your rearview...Good you were able to recharge with the PB&J sandwich and cinnamon rolls.
